Mike has over 20 years experience within IT and Telecommunications gained in a variety of different business sectors including Defense, Retail, Leisure and Property.
He gained Microsoft Certified Professional status in 1999 and has been designing, implementing and supporting Microsoft based infrastructures from Windows NT4 through to Windows Server 2008 R2 and Small Business Server 2011 and just about everything in between. Mike is also a Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner and holds ITIL v3 certification, he uses those skills for implementing and managing successful projects such as infrastructure upgrades, telecommunication system migrations, office re-locations and Electronic Data Management Systems (EDMS) installations.
Mike has managed the technical infrastructures for companies such as Lloyds Pharmacy and Enterprise Inns, ensuring that the servers required by the businesses and the services that they run are available during core business hours. This includes support for bespoke business applications, Finance Systems, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft IIS server and a whole host of other back office services. He has also managed many IT projects on behalf of those businesses which included negotiating with suppliers and 3rd parties to get the best possible prices, and he has maintained those relationships to ensure he can still get the right deal at the right price for you.
He has also worked with a host of small businesses, analysing their IT requirements and implementing robust, high performing infrastructures designed to meet both current and future business needs.
Amongst a host of industry qualifications, Mike is also a FAST approved Software Auditor and has worked closely with companies such as Microsoft, Symantec and McAfee, ensuring that businesses are compliant with their software licensing obligations, but within a budget which the business can afford.
Mike’s philosophy is that you shouldn’t have to pay big business prices to get the highest levels of IT support. This ethos is the foundations of our IT Support service. His experience has taught him that being pro-active with the infrastructure you have can be a far better return on investment than throwing money at things once they break. In his spare time Mike plays Petanque, is a keen angler and is a member of NLB (Network for Local Business). He is also on the Committee for Loughborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce and helps with fundraising for a number of local charities.
